The sale of sausages and fizzy drinks in public schools has been banned in line with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the education and health ministries, Mehrzad Hamidi, deputy minister for physical education and health said. The first phase of the MoU laid emphasis on students’ food security, ISNA reported.

Nearly 500 individuals have been employed to supervise school buffets and they visited 88,000 schools across the country last month, Hamidi added.
