For the first time, non-governmental organizations under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs will be evaluated and ranked based on their performance, said the ministry’s head of public participation.
“Monitoring, evaluating and ranking the NGOs is a task of the ministry,” said Reza Hojjati, Borna News Agency reported.
He criticized “the resistance among middle managers to relinquish some of the responsibilities of the government to the NGOs,” and said across the world, 15%-20% of state duties are assumed and carried out by NGOs, “but that is not the case in Iran.
