Drawing on the potential for marine tourism along the Makran Coast in southern Iran is essential to developing the local economy, according to a senior tourism official in Sistan-Baluchestan Province. “Investing in infrastructure along the coast will help the region realize its potential for marine tourism,” Kambiz Gohari, head of the provincial chapter of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, was quoted as saying by YJC. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between various entities, adding that “developing marine tourism requires a collective effort; it cannot be done alone.” To that end, the provincial ICHHTO has been working closely with the Chabahar Free Zone Organization and Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization. “(Our commitment) to this joint effort heralds a bright future for tourism in Makran Coast.” There are plans to establish seven holiday resorts along the coast.
