Flydubai Launches 5 New Routes  in Iran

Flydubai has announced launch of flights to Ahwaz, Hamadan, Isfahan, Shiraz and Tabriz in Iran, according to UAE news website The National. The announcement will see the airline’s Iranian network grow to seven points, adding to launch of flights to Tehran and Mashhad in 2014. Flights to Shiraz, Isfahan and Ahwaz will commence on March 8, 11 and 14 respectively. Hamadan and Tabriz will join on March 16. Ghaith Al-Ghaith, chief executive officer of Flydubai, said: “We have seen strong demand from travelers between these two cities and Dubai. The addition of flights to five points increases our frequency to the Islamic Republic to 23 flights weekly.” Business class will be available to the five new destinations. Saj Ahmad, chief analyst at StrategicAero Research said Iran is “a huge market” with massive growth potential. “Plus the big trade links between the UAE and Iran make an ample target for Flydubai.” The airline, which started operations in 2009, now operates more than 1,400 weekly flights to 94 destinations within a six-hour flying radius from Dubai.
