Yves Rossier, secretary of state at the Swiss Foreign Ministry, said his country is prepared to help Iran reclaim its previous economic position at the international level following the removal of anti-Tehran sanctions.

“Due to its absence in financial markets, Tehran is lagging behind in finances and technologies, especially what refers to the country’s internal infrastructure,” Rossier told Sputnik on Tuesday.

The senior diplomat said now that anti-Iran sanctions have been lifted, Switzerland is prepared to assist Tehran to catch up with other countries.

“So it [Switzerland’s help] is mostly about technical and technological support to assist Iran get back to the international financial markets,” he said.

Tehran and P5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain and France, plus Germany) on July 14, 2015, finalized a comprehensive nuclear deal and started implementing it on January 16.

The agreement, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
