Iranian private steelmakers exported 2.56 million tons of crude steel during the nine months ending December 20, recording a 118% upsurge compared with last year’s corresponding period. The private mills’ steel product exports reached 1.51 million tons during the same period, registering a 4% drop year-on-year. Billet and bloom accounted for the lion’s share of the exports, as they grew 46% Y-O-Y to 1.69 million tons, IRNA reported. Hot-rolled coil came second on the list with 978,000 tons, down 11% compared with last year’s similar period. It was followed by slab with 867,000 tons, beams and rebars with 159,200 tons, cold-rolled coil with 131,000 tons and coated sheets with 23,000 tons.
