Austrian Airlines Starts Vienna-Isfahan Flights

Starting from today (Sept. 4), Austria’s national carrier will fly three times a week to the Iranian commercial center of Isfahan, Aviation Tribune reported. The airline will operate an Airbus A320 to the world famous Iranian tourist hub at a distance of 4,200 kilometers from Vienna Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Austrian Airlines has expanded its existing portfolio of up to fourteen weekly flights to Tehran by adding Isfahan, thus increasing its services to Iran to up to 17 flights each week. The subsidiary of Lufthansa will fly to Isfahan the entire year. The duration of the journey from Vienna to Isfahan is about 4 hours 40 minutes. On Thursday, British Airways resumed direct flights to Tehran - the first UK carrier to fly to Iran for four years. Six return flights per week will operate between London Heathrow and Tehran, which BA described as “an important destination”. Air France resumed flying to Tehran in April after a seven-year hiatus.
