More than 285 kilometers of freeways have come on stream since August 2013 when President Hassan Rouhani took office, according to the deputy head for construction and development at Transportation Infrastructure Company. Seyyed Hossein Mirshafi also referred to the 152-km freeway from the city of Qom to Garmsar in Semnan Province as one of the main projects completed ing the past four years, IRNA reported. According to Mirshafi, the aggregate length of Iran’s freeways is to exceed 8,000 kilometers as stipulated in the 2025 Vision Plan.
