The subsidiaries of National Iranian Copper Industries Company, including Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex, Sungun Copper Mine and Miduk Copper Mine produced about 185,000 tons of copper concentrate during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-April 20, 2016), posting a 31% rise compared to the corresponding period of last year, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported on its website. Iran’s copper reserves account for 4% of the world’s total or roughly 2.6 billion tons while domestic production represents 75% of the total for the Middle East region. National Iranian Copper Industries Company is listed on Tehran Stock Exchange and is Iran’s top non-oil exporter.
