Allameh Tabatabaei University agreed on Monday to help enhance Tejarat Bank’s compatibility with international banking norms, including risk management, corporate sovereignty and anti-money laundering. During his visit to the university, Mohammad Ibrahim Moghadam, Tejarat’s CEO, said that his bank’s cooperation with universities is not [merely] for increasing profits, but it also seeks to help promote the role of academia in the economic development of the country, banker.ir reported. ATU, established in 1984, is a Tehran-based state university specialized in the humanities and social sciences. Hossein Salimi, the chancellor, welcomed the bank’s move saying “Tejarat Bank and ATU partnership is win-win deal.” Tejarat provides banking services to 318 universities across the country. It has 90 branches and 40 sub-branches on their campuses.
