Arian Motors, the official representative of Citroen DS in Iran, will unveil the Chinese-derived DS6 in the coming week. The DS6 is a compact SUV designed specifically for the Chinese market and is now making its regional debut in Iran. It is the second DS model, then a sub-brand, to not feature the Citroën logo following the launch of the DS 5LS earlier in 2014. Powered by a four-cylinder 1.6-liter gasoline engine and producing 200 PS at 5800 rpm and 275 Nm torque at 1700-4500 rpm, it is claimed to accelerate from 0–100 km in 8.4 seconds. The DS6 will give Citroen a credible entry in the booming compact SUV market. However, it is not cheap, considering the starting price of 2.1 billion rials ($62,571).
