Iran traded 421,341 tons of non-oil goods worth $140.41 million with Afghanistan during the first Iranian month (March 21-April 20), registering a 7.48% and 18.49% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with the year before, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.
Afghanistan was Iran's seventh biggest trading partner during the period.
Iran’s exports to Afghanistan stood at 421,049 tons of goods worth $140.17 million to register a 7.42% and 18.23% decline in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.
Afghanistan was Iran’s fifth export destination in the world.
Iran exported low-density oils, hydrocarbon gases, tomatoes, iron/steel bars, and dairy products to Afghanistan during the one-month period.
Afghanistan exported 292 tons of commodities worth $245,628 to Iran, down 52.85% and 71.01% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. Afghanistan was the 70th exporter of goods to Iran during the month under review.
Iran mainly imported camels and sheep from Afghanistan.
