Domestic carmaker Kerman Khodro will resume production of the Chinese sedan Lifan 820 in Bam, Kerman Province.

The renewed presence of the Chinese car could open a new chapter in collaboration between the two sides, Asb-e Bokhar news website reported.

Unveiled during Beijing 2014 Motor Show as the flagship in Lifan’s sedan lineup, Lifan 820, is a midsize city car which reportedly inspired by Toyota Camry.

The model is available with a 1.8-liter gasoline engine producing 133hp and 168nm. With the momentum booster up to 100 mph, the car reaches top speed of 180mph in 15.8 seconds.

The vehicle is equipped with anti-lock braking (ABS) and anti-slip regulation (ASR) systems.

Kerman Khodro is the second largest private auto company in Iran.

During the first four months of the current fiscal that started in March, the company made 17,651 cars indicating a 6.3% year-on-year increase.

In addition to Lifan, Kerman Khodro also manufactures the Chinese JAC and BYD vehicles.
