Namava Theater Festival, organized by Amir Kabir University of Technology, is underway from the weekend at the varsity in Tehran.
It features stage reading of 17 plays written by students from universities of Amir Kabir, Tehran and Alzahra as well as vocational schools and Azad University, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.
Readings for evaluation of jury are to be performed on April 25-26 at Nasser Khosro Theater Hall on 16-Azar Street, Enqelab Avenue.The closing ceremony of the festival is scheduled for April 30 at Molana Amphitheater of Amir Kabir University located on Hafez Street. A special program is planned to honor veteran director, playwright actor, set and costume designer Ali Rafee, 80, and theater director and actor Afshin Hashemi, 43. In honor of their great contributions to theater, the festival organizers will plant two saplings at the green space of Amir Kabir University.
