Following international presentations, the Iranian animation ‘Based on Photo’ directed by Elika Mehranpour has been accepted in two international festivals.
The 7-minute animated movie which has attended over 40 global events will first participate in the Manhattan Independent Film Festival, slated for October 8 and 9, Mehr News Agency reported.
Officially selected for the animated short film section, it will compete with six other works from the US, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Canada.
Later in November, it will be screened at the Manchester Animation Festival. The 2015 2D digital work will have two showings on November 15 and 17 at the event.
The work is a brief introduction to a couple of young people from Tehran in their daily life, as they turn up seemingly spontaneously in front of the camera.
Born in Tehran, Mehranpour, 32, holds a master’s degree in animation from Art University of Tehran.
This is her first animation as a director for which she has won awards as well.
