Tehran Symphony Orchestra (TSO) will perform South Korean pieces at Tehran's Vahdat Hall on Friday, September 30.
Iranian-American composer, conductor, violinist and pianist Shahrdad Rohani, 61, will conduct the orchestra, according to the Roudaki Foundation.
The orchestra starts at 9:30 pm, with a repertoire of South Korean compositions as well as globally known symphonic pieces. The Korean pieces include Arirang, often considered the unofficial national anthem of Korea and Geumgang-san, a namesake piece about the Mount Kumgangsan, located on the east coast of South Korea.
Other pieces included in the repertoire are Overture to The Bat (Die Fledermaus) and The Blue Danube (Blaueb Donau) by Johann Strauss II (1825-1899), Dance of Circle by Iranian composer and conductor Heshmat Sanjari (1918-1995), Spanish Caprice by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov (1844-1908) and In a Persian Market by English composer, pianist and conductor Albert Ketelbey (1875-1959).
