South Korean Ambassador Kim Seung-Ho visited the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran on Tuesday.

He said he is honored to visit one of the prominent cultural centers in Iran. He was welcomed by Majid Rajabi-Memar, IAF head and advisor to Tehran Municipality’s Art and Culture Organization, IRNA reported.

“As South Korea’s representative in Iran, “it’s my duty to extend bilateral relations between the two countries; so far, the interactions have been confined to commercial and economic issues. However, improving cultural and artistic ties will help prepare the grounds for developing multi-dimensional cooperation between Tehran and Seoul.”

He said his embassy as well as Korean commercial and business firms will support Iranian artists, and contribute to organizing different cultural and artistic programs in Iran and South Korea.

Referring to the IAF activities, Rajabi-Memar said: “We collaborate with local cultural institutes and art groups to present Iranian culture and art through various events. We also welcome cooperation with other countries.”

Pointing to the special week-long events held in Iran earlier to introduce culture and customs of other countries, such as Russia, Armenia, and Turkey, he said: “Such occasions indeed help promote cultural ties among countries and make them familiar with each other’s history and art.”

Iran and South Korea both have a rich history and civilization that can contribute to each other’s cultural tie, he told the visiting Korean diplomat.
